- Senior Session 2016 -

Senior year of high school is not only an important time for the student, but for the parents as well. I want to make the transition of your teen soon-to-be-adult a little less stressful so allow me to capture their favorite memories of their high school years. I really want to get to know the teen, find out what types of events they're involved in. I like to make the sessions fun and relate closely to what your teen loves. Basically, I want to discover WHO your teen is and then portray that through their pictures.

Pre-Consultation: I really strive to learn as much as possible about my clients and I encourage them to schedule a pre-consultation with me ahead of time. It can be as simple as a phone conversation or email exchange or we can set up a coffee chit chat to get to know each other. I want to get to know you so you feel 100% comfortable with me before the day of your session and get the jitters out so you look relaxed and know exactly what we’ll be doing the day of your session.

Your Session: I like to suggest you get your session together depending on what type of scenery you intend to include. If you're looking for wheat, look into a June session. If you're wanting to do some fun fall colors then make sure you don't book any earlier than the end of August. This is meant to highlight some of the teens favorite things so be sure to include special touches that will really make their shoot fun!

What To Bring: I encourage you to bring along anything and everything your teen is involved in. This means any type of clubs, sports or even special hobbies. Anything that highlights this point in their life. Big into sports? Bring along their bat, knee pads, jerseys and a couple balls. If they're into dance then have them pull out their old costumes to play with and photograph. And if your teen does nothing but sit at home and hides while playing video games, bring the controller along! Also, you might want to include a class ring if you have purchased one. Keep in mind that social media can work to your advantage, use Pinterest to find inspiration!

Time & Location: I only shoot seniors on week nights. For on location shoots, I prefer shooting right before sunset, that's always the best lighting but we can do a morning session if needed. Senior sessions usually last an hour or more depending on locations and the amount of changes we do. At the pre-consultation meeting on the phone or in person we can discuss the theme or mood you’re planning on going for and can choose from there the location as well as time. If you have a specific place that has sentimental value or significance to your make sure you let me know and we'll be sure to incorporate it.

Gallery Viewing Session: Something brand new for 2016 is something I’ve chosen to give my clients a full experience not just a single date of shooting and then never communicating again. A few weeks after your session we will schedule a viewing session where we sit down and view a slideshow of all of the images from your session as well as discuss what products you intend to create with your images. I will have product samples for you to view and can help you decide what other products you’re interested in ordering including photo albums, canvases, and digital files.

**All session packages’s require a deposit of $50 to book your session. This is a non-refundable deposit. The deposit ensures we hold your date and is then applied to your session fee. All session fees are due the day of your session. Digital files are not included in your session fee. Prints and products are sold separately at your viewing and ordering session after your shoot. Minimum print order is $50 with an average investment of about $250-$400 (including session fee and prints). Digital files are available for purchase once a minimum print order has been placed.**

- Newborn Session 2016 -

Newborn sessions are very special to family members and friends. A time spent capturing those tiny details that make your newborn unique and remembering them in their first weeks in the big world. You will want to capture the little nugget and their first moments of life to continuously look back and remind yourself of the beautiful life that you have created.

Your Session: Newborn sessions are very special. A time spent photographing ten fingers and ten toes, their yawns and precious facial expressions. Newborn images are best captured during the first 10-12 days after birth. The babies are generally smaller, sleepier and can easily be posed into positions. Sessions are typically held in our studio or as a lifestlye session in your home. Another reason we hold newborn sessions within the first ten days after birth is because newborn acne and colic start to flare up around two weeks of age.

What To Bring: Bring any type of props you have in mind for your shoot. This is the type of shoot where you can never have enough props, hats, blankets, diaper covers and other cute baby mementos. I typically like to stick with neutrals and earthy tones so most of my props reflect that style. If you're looking for a uniquely themed session to fit babies room or parents taste please bring that up so we can plan and get it set up for you! Also, if daddies not along for the photography session, be sure to borrow his ring, everyone needs a shot with mommy and daddies jewels! If you're having trouble with coming up with prop ideas be sure to let me know and we can brainstorm together. I have a couple of contacts that offer great baby photography props and baby items to purchase.

Time & Location: With studio lighting we can shoot at any time during the day but I really prefer to plan around babies schedule when possible. If you have an early morning sleeper let’s try to shoot around that. I like to allow three to four  hours for photographing newborns that way there's enough time for feedings and comforting should baby we need it. Try to keep baby up for awhile before coming to your session that way we can insure baby sleeps well for photos. Try to keep the diaper loose so we do not get diaper marks in the photographs. It is also fun to do outside photographs with baby (weather permitting) in flower fields or other natural settings.

- Weddings 2016 -

At this time Dirt Road Photography is not booking weddings for 2016.

This is due to being busy with many other projects and commitments. I will soon be creating pricing packages for 2017 and booking limited spots for weddings in the spring/summer. Please keep in mind that I do not want weddings to interfere with my usual sessions so I will only be taking on a few weddings a year to ensure I can serve both my regular clients as well as giving my wedding clients a personalized experience and within a timely manner for turnaround time on their images.

Please follow along on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date and find out more information when I will open up wedding dates or sign up for our mailing list to get updates on sales and new products. SIGN UP HERE.

- Maternity Session 2016 -

A maternity session is your time to show off your very special baby bump. A precious time in you and your partners life! A baby is a huge, life altering event and you'll want to cherish every special moment throughout your 40 week journey. This is a time to document those moments in time that are often forgotten or looked over after your newborn is here. I want to photograph that memory for you to look back on and show your baby the first moments mommy was blessed to spend with them.

Your Session: The best time to photograph your maternity session is during the 30-34 weeks of pregnancy. You don't want to plan them too early because you want people to see your beautiful bump but we don't want to plan them too late that you might go into labor while posing in a lush field of flowers or make you feel too uncomfortable. Every
pregnancy is different so we can work out a time that works best for you based upon your specific situation.

What To Wear: Bring along a couple different outfits or wardrobe changes. For maternity sessions its best to wear something that shows off your baby bump and flatters that tiny little one growing inside. Some great examples are flowing dresses, some fitted tanks and any flowing fabric you'd like for a windswept type photograph. I do have a few beautiful maternity gowns available if you’re interested in something stylish and different. I suggest clothing without logos or wording as they'll stay timeless during the years to come. Instead of the old school rule of matching think of coordinating schemes to go with if you choose to have a significant other in the photos. Go outside your comfort zone and dress up a bit, remember you will cherish these photos for years to come so put a bit of thought into what you'd like to see yourself in. The make or break of a session can be the mood or feel of your clothing choices so think of the overall feel you’re going for and style your clothing to go with that!

What To Bring: Bring any type of props you have in mind for your shoot. If you have a specific photograph that you like and want to re-create bring it to my attention, I'm here to make your memories turn into photographs so by all means share your ideas. Keep in mind that social media can work to your advantage, use Pinterest to find inspiration! If you have a special family memento that you're planning on including with the little one bring it. I also suggest bringing some tiny baby onsies or other small items of the baby. If you're planning on taking gender reveal photos make sure we discuss the ways you'd like to go about announcing so we can plan props ahead of time if needed.

Time & Location: For on location shoots, I prefer shooting right before sunset, that's always the best lighting but we can do a morning session if needed. Maternity sessions usually last an hour or more depending on locations and the amount of changes we do. At the pre-consultation meeting on the phone or in person we can discuss the theme or mood you’re planning on going for and can choose from there the location as well as time.
